Mural painted for the Hoy Villa Francisca Festival in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
Growing up, like a lot of other kids that live in rural areas of the Dominican Republic, we would go into the mountains and use slingshots to hunt Ciguas (Dominican national bird). We would make them out of wood branches and rubber bands or old bicycle tubes. I’m still surprised at how accurate we were. This is still one of my fondest memories as a child.
