ABOUT THIS EXHIBITION
Words with the curator Chiara Pietropaoli, on the concept of Mercy.
Mercy has always been a necessary emotion that’s been practiced by few and yearned by many. If we look back at our history there has always been this constant battle for power and resources, where the strongest fight among each other for total control and the less privileged fight to survive at their mercy.
Mercy explores this human conflict in the form of a metaphor. When I was young growing up, I have vivid memories of stray-dogs viciously fighting for food scraps on the streets. This metaphor is one of the ways I’m able to relate to our current political, racial and current state as human beings.
